Sky Garden

For the Sky Garden project at Hong Kong International Airport, I took on the role of Software Engineer Lead, responsible for developing a cutting-edge music and light show system. Working with clients from both the airport and Nomura Japan, my objective was to create an immersive experience that would captivate visitors.

Using my expertise in audiovisual technology, DMX, JavaScript, and React.js, I designed and implemented a sophisticated centralized control solution. This system seamlessly integrates over 800 individual LED lights, immersive audio playback, and mist machines throughout the venue. The result is a mesmerizing spectacle that enchants and engages audiences.

To facilitate the operation and management of the installation, I developed a custom CMS (Content Management System). This intuitive interface allows operators to precisely schedule lighting shows, adjust music playlists, and control mist outputs with precision down to the second. The flexibility provided by the CMS ensures that the passenger experience is constantly refreshed and remains dynamic.

At the core of the Sky Garden project is a network of programmable controllers. These controllers work in tandem to synchronize all lighting, audio, and mist sequences across the massive installation. With split-second timing between hundreds of DMX-linked fixtures moving in choreographed patterns, my software ensures a seamless and immersive experience for the 10,000+ visitors who have flocked to the area.
