Somnium

Somnium is a captivating technical stage exhibition that combines lighting sculpture, robot cars, and projection mapping to create a mesmerizing visual experience. As the embedded software engineer for this project, my role was pivotal in designing the electronic schematics and control systems for the robot cars.

One of the key aspects of my work was developing the position tracking system for the robot cars. This involved implementing precise algorithms and sensors to accurately determine the location and movement of the cars on the stage. By integrating embedded Linux and utilizing the power of ROS melodic, I was able to create a robust and reliable tracking system that seamlessly synchronized with the overall performance.

Additionally, I designed and implemented the video sync system, ensuring that the visuals projected onto the sculpture and robot cars were perfectly synchronized with the accompanying audio and lighting effects. This required a deep understanding of embedded C programming and real-time communication protocols to achieve precise timing and seamless integration.

Furthermore, I developed the network communication system that allowed seamless communication between the robot cars, lighting sculpture, and projection mapping systems. This involved implementing efficient data transfer protocols and ensuring low latency communication to maintain the synchronization and coordination of all elements of the exhibition.

The impact of the Somnium exhibition was truly remarkable, as it mesmerized audiences with its seamless integration of technology and artistry. The precision and synchronization achieved through my embedded software engineering work brought the entire exhibition to life, immersing viewers in a world of captivating visuals and immersive experiences.
